THE 2024 UK Championship is right around the corner - with some huge names competing in York.

Judd Trump held off a spirited Barry Hawkins 6-2 to win his second UK Championship title at York's Barbican.

The world number one was on the brink of lifting snooker's second biggest trophy for the first time since 2011 when leading 9-6, only for Hawkins to claw his way back into contention by taking the next two frames.

Last Year: Ronnie O'Sullivan became the oldest-ever UK champion with a 10-7 victory over Ding Junhui as Rocket claimed a record-extending eighth title in York.

The UK Championship is the first of the World Snooker Tour's prestigious Triple Crown events.

The UK Championship 2024 snooker tournament starts on Saturday, November 23 and runs until December 1.

• Qualifying for the UK Snooker Championship 2023 will run between November 14-22.

• The final will take place on Sunday, 1st December.
