WATCH: Kansas City Chiefs' TE, Travis Kelce slapped by LA Chargers' DT' Teair Tart
Travis Kelce has been making headlines recently for reasons outside of football, but that shifted during Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
In the third quarter, with just over eight minutes left, Chargers defensive tackle Teair Tart slapped Kelce on the front of his helmet after a two-yard run by Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt.
Officials immediately flagged Tart for unnecessary roughness, pushing the ball to the Chargers’ 11-yard line. On the very next play, Patrick Mahomes ran it in for an 11-yard touchdown, trimming Kansas City’s deficit to 13-12. However, Harrison Butker missed the extra point that would have tied the game.
At that point, Kelce had recorded just one reception for 10 yards.
