Mitchell, Howard Lead Fever to 97-77 Rout of Sky, Nearing Playoff Berth.
Kelsey Mitchell led with 20 points and Natasha Howard added 18 as the Indiana Fever defeated the Chicago Sky 97-77, inching closer to a playoff berth. Despite missing star Caitlin Clark, sidelined since July 15 with a groin injury, and the Sky lacking Angel Reese, who was serving a one-game suspension for her eighth technical foul and a team-imposed half-game penalty for detrimental comments, the Fever dominated. Indiana went 5-0 against Chicago this season, averaging a 24-point margin of victory.
Odyssey Sims contributed 13 points and Aliyah Boston added 11 for the Fever (22-20), who are now 2½ games ahead of Los Angeles for the final playoff spot. One more win or a Sparks loss will clinch their postseason berth.
