I’ll likely just stay with Penn State. I’m probably not touching this one though—mostly due to what should be a thick line pretty much everywhere. It’s just not really worth messing around with. That said, the Nittany Lions have a couple of good efforts in the books (versus overmatched opponents) so far. In the Nevada game, Penn State put up 438 total yards (303 passing), 6.2 yards per play and 25 first downs. On defense the Lions surrendered just 203 total yards (125 passing), 3.9 yards per play and 13 first downs while collecting a trio of takeaways.
In game two Penn State held FIU to just 290 yards total (149 passing), 4.0 yards per play and 14 first downs with two takeaways. The offense was good in that one with 409 yards (209 rushing) and 20 first downs, but Penn State went just 3-of-12 on third downs. The Lions have a few kinks to work out, but this should be another big win.
