Garrett Wilson on Rodgers: Learned a Lot, But No Contact Since Exit

Jets’ Garrett Wilson: Learned from Rodgers, but no contact since his exit.

Garrett Wilson says playing with Aaron Rodgers taught him a lot, but the two haven’t spoken since Rodgers left the Jets for the Steelers.

“I got to play with a legend,” Wilson said. “Every day I learned something just being around him. But no, I haven’t talked to him since he left. I wish him the best.”

Rodgers often praised Wilson last season, even comparing him to Davante Adams. Wilson started strong with 41 catches in six games, but after the Jets traded for Adams, his role shifted. He still set career highs with 101 receptions, 1,104 yards, and seven touchdowns, though the Jets finished 5-12.

The struggles led to the firing of coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas. New coach Aaron Glenn and GM Darren Mougey chose to move forward without Rodgers.

Now Wilson is looking ahead — with a familiar face at quarterback. He’s reunited with Justin Fields, his former Ohio State teammate.

“To play with your college QB again, that’s a blessing,” Wilson said. “It gives us familiarity and makes things exciting.”
