Cowser’s 3-Run Blast Lifts Orioles Over White Sox, 4-1.
Colton Cowser delivered the big swing Monday night, crushing a three-run homer that powered the Baltimore Orioles past the Chicago White Sox 4-1 and handed Chicago its fourth straight loss.
Kyle Bradish (1-1), making just his fourth start since returning from Tommy John surgery, was dominant. The right-hander struck out nine over five innings, giving up only one run on four hits to earn his first win since June 2024.
Baltimore’s bullpen kept the momentum. Dietrich Enns worked three spotless innings with four strikeouts to lock down his second save of the season.
Rookie Jackson Holliday stayed hot, collecting two hits and a walk. He has now hit safely in 11 straight road games—the longest streak in Orioles history by a player age 21 or younger—and pushed his career-best on-base streak to 16 games.
The Orioles struck first in the third inning when Samuel Basallo drew a leadoff walk and scored on Jeremiah Jackson’s two-out single.
Turning point
The game swung in the sixth. With two outs and a runner on first, Chicago brought in Tyler Alexander (2-2). Basallo greeted him with a single, and Cowser followed by launching a three-run shot to right, giving Baltimore a 4-1 cushion.
By the numbers
Bradish has now allowed two runs or fewer in 11 consecutive road starts, the longest active streak in the majors (excluding openers) and tied for the Orioles’ franchise record set by John Means in 2020–21.
Up next
The series continues Tuesday as Dean Kremer (9-10, 4.43 ERA) starts for Baltimore against Chicago’s Shane Smith (6-7, 3.78).
