Cowboys Focus on Moving Forward After Micah Parsons Trade.
Cowboys Moving On After Micah Parsons Trade
The Dallas Cowboys are done talking about Micah Parsons.
Edge rusher Sam Williams, asked about Parsons after Dallas’ 24-20 loss to the Eagles in Week 1, said, “Micah’s gone, so I feel like we should stop bringing up his name. He’s on the Packers. Ask about the Cowboys and the guys in the locker room.”
Williams made it clear that any Parsons questions should go to the player’s agent or Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. “I’m me, he’s him,” Williams said.
Jones echoed the sentiment, praising the players who stepped up in Parsons’ absence. “Anytime you lose a great player, it’s tough, but I’m proud of this team,” he said.
Parsons had a rocky 2025 with Dallas, including contract disputes and a training camp “hold-in,” ending with a trade to Green Bay. The Packers signed him to a four-year, $188 million deal ($136 million guaranteed).
Quarterback Dak Prescott said Parsons’ absence didn’t affect the team’s mindset. “We wish him the best, but we’re moving forward,” Prescott said.
On the field, Dallas struggled early against the Eagles. They played zone on all first-half pass plays and didn’t blitz, generating just three pressures and no sacks. Adjustments in the second half, including two blitzes, led to their only sack by Marshawn Kneeland.
Defensive lineman Osa Odighizuwa said the defense played well overall, though Hurts’ scrambles caused problems. Parsons might have helped in those situations, but the team is focused on moving forward.
