FIBA Under 19 basketball world cup winners: All-time past champions by year history since 1979
The FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup (formerly FIBA Under-19 World Championship) is the under-19 men's world basketball championship organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
From its inauguration in 1979, until 2007, it was held every four years. Since 2007, it has been held biennially. The current champions are United States in 2025. The next edition will take place in Czech Republic in 2027.
Who won the 2025 FIBA Under 19 basketball world cup?
The USA Basketball Men’s U19 National Team completed its redemption arc on Sunday, defeating Germany 109-76 in the gold medal game at the 2025 FIBA U19 Men’s World Cup and capturing their ninth title in event history.
Germany controlled the matchup early, jumping out to an 11-5 lead with 5:30 left in the opening period. The U.S. battled back and the quarter ended with both sides trading baskets. After 10 minutes, the USA led 24-23 as Tyran Stokes put up 6 points coming off the bench.
The U.S. finished strong, taking a comfortable 109-76 victory and winning their ninth U19 gold medal in style.
Dybantsa was named the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup MVP, while both Dybantsa and Brown Jr. were named to the All-Star Five of the event.
