Denmark were held to a draw by Tunisia in their World Cup opener in a raucous atmosphere at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan.

In the 2nd match of second day, Arabian shines, as Tunisia held European Championship semifinalist Denmark to a 0-0 draw Tuesday, three hours after Saudi Arabia beat Argentina in a shocking upset.

Assa Ladouni, a midfielder for Tunisia, set the tone for the match in the first minute when he aggressively tackled Denmark playmaker Christian Eriksen to take the ball away. He then stood up and pumped his arms menacingly while signalling to the crowd to get even more energised.

Although Tunisia probably should have scored more, Denmark was able to hold on to a draw thanks to a brilliant save by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel just before halftime.

After Tunisia's defence was breached, Schmeichel, who had already sunk to the ground, stuck his hand up to deflect a shot from Issam Jebali, who plays club soccer for Odense in Denmark.
