Which horses are running in Belmont Stakes 2025? Meet Each Contenders

Which horses will run in Belmont Stakes 2025? Journalism, Sovereignty among those to watch, expected field.

At least eight horses are considered possible to run in the $2 million, Grade 1 Belmont Stakes on June 7 at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The Belmont is being held at Saratoga for the second consecutive year as Belmont Park is being renovated. The race will be contested at 1 ¼ miles instead of the traditional 1 ½ miles when held at Belmont Park.

The Belmont could match Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty against Preakness Stakes winner Journalism. Sovereignty skipped the Preakness, which Journalism won on Saturday.

Aron Wellman, co-owner of Journalism, said he would consider bringing the horse back for the Belmont.

Post time for the final leg of the Triple Crown is set for approximately 6:50 p.m. FOX will provide live coverage from 4-7:30 p.m.
