2026 Belmont Stakes Early Predictions Following Preakness Stakes

Renegade enters the 2026 Belmont Stakes as one of the early favorites after finishing second in the Kentucky Derby. The Todd Pletcher-trained colt previously captured victories in the Sam F. Davis Stakes and the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby, establishing himself as one of the top 3-year-olds in horse racing.

Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo is also expected to be a major contender after his shocking 23-1 upset victory at Churchill Downs, where he rallied from the back of the pack to narrowly defeat Renegade in dramatic fashion.

Preakness Stakes winner Napoleon Solo will skip the Belmont Stakes following his breakthrough victory at Laurel Park, leaving fans without a Triple Crown showdown between the Derby and Preakness champions.

Other horses gaining attention include Chief Wallabee, who finished fourth in the Kentucky Derby after strong prep race performances, and Commandment, who entered the Derby on a four-race winning streak before placing seventh.

The 2026 Belmont Stakes will again take place at Saratoga Race Course while Belmont Park remains under renovation, setting the stage for a highly competitive Triple Crown finale.
