Egyptian duo Asal & Sherbini wins 2021-22 PSA World Tour Finals

Mostafa Asal and Nour El Sherbini wins the 2021-22 CIB PSA World Tour Finals titles.

• Egyptian duo Nour El Sherbini and Mostafa Asal have been crowned the 2021-22 CIB PSA World Tour Finals champions following respective wins over women’s World No.1 Nouran Gohar and men’s World No.2 Paul Coll earlier tonight at Cairo’s Mall of Arabia.

Due to El Sherbini's masterclass performance, In a rematch of the CIB PSA World Championship final from May, El Sherbini defeated her compatriot to win the women's title with final score 11-6, 11-8, 11-5 in 43 minutes.



World No. 2 El Sherbini defeated World No. 3 Hania El Hammamy and World No. 4 before. Despite having an ankle injury the entire time, Amanda Sobhy made it to the final.

• Gohar, who was the defending champion entering the final, was recently named the PSA Female Player of the Year after an amazing season in which she won seven PSA titles.

• She now holds her 30th PSA title, but she was defeated by a dominant El Sherbini, who won this competition for the first time since 2018.

After defeating Coll of New Zealand 13-11, 11-8, 11-7 in 76 minutes, world No. 4 Mostafa Asal successfully defended the men's title, giving him his eighth PSA victory of his young career.



The 21-year-old was facing Coll for the second time in a row after he defeated the former World No. 1 in the El Gouna title match earlier this month.

• The young player, who has now won four major PSA titles after also winning the U.S. Open and El Gouna International trophies this season, dismantled Coll in the El Gouna title match.

In a closely contested match, he had to work hard to win, but he displayed superior ability when it mattered most to seal the deal and win his third PSA championship of the year.
