On Sunday evening, the Baltimore Orioles took shortstop Jackson Holliday with the first overall pick in the MLB Draft for 2022. Holliday will be chosen first overall in the draught.
The son of former MLB seven-time All-Star Matt Holliday is Jackson Holliday. One of four prospects vying for the first pick, Jackson is a left-handed power hitter with good projection. Holliday has made Oklahoma State his chosen place to play.
Termarr Johnson, a second baseman from Georgia who hits for contact, was the favourite to be selected first overall. The son of former Atlanta Braves OF Andruw Jones, Druw Jones, was also a contender and rose as high as +210 to land at No. 1. Johnson was -250 to win the competition.
