Ealey wins first US women's shot put world title, Gold at 2022 Athletics

Chase Ealey beat Gong Lijiao wins US women's shot put Gold at 2022 Athletics world championships.






  • Chase Ealey to make history on Saturday as she won the United States' first women's shot put title at the World Championships, denying China's Gong Lijiao a third successive gold medal.



While Chinese Olympic champion Gong came close with her fifth effort to gets Silver medal, which went just 10cm short, the 27-year-initial old's throw of 20.49 metres proved untouchable through six rounds.



To win bronze, Jessica Schilder of the Netherlands set a new national record of 19.77m.

Sarah Mitton, a Canadian, suffered grief when she tied Schilder's score on her final attempt but came in fourth on the tiebreaker.



She was the first American to win a gold medal in its inaugural World Championships hosting, followed minutes later by the American wins Gold with Clean sweeps in the men's 100m medals.
