Tommy Fury beats Jake Paul in long-awaited fight in Saudi Arabia, Briton won by split-decision over American..

In what was arguably the most anticipated eight-round fight in boxing history, Tommy Fury defeated Jake Paul by split decision in Saudi Arabia Mega showdown.

Fury, 23, was the busier boxer, landing more precise blows and showcasing his fundamentals of the sport.

The brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former Love Island star was knocked out in the eighth round by YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul.

  • The final score was 76-73, 76-73, 74-75 in favour of Fury, who maintained his perfect record of 9-0 (4 knockouts). This was Paul's first defeat (6-1, 4 KOs).

  • One judge gave Paul a score of 75–74, while the other two gave Fury a score of 76–73.

Paul, 26, came the closest to stopping the fight when he stunned Fury with a jab in the final round, but the 23-year-old did his job more efficiently over the course of eight rounds than the American.

Each fighter received a point deduction throughout the fight; Paul was docked one for striking Fury in the back of the head in Round 5, and Fury was assessed a point deduction for holding Paul during a clinch in Round 6.

However, Fury's performance was smoother all throughout as he narrowly edged Paul going into the final two rounds. Paul, meanwhile, had sustained more facial injuries and was clearly getting tired as the fight came to a close.
