French Open 2022: Coco Gauff defeats Martina Trevisan in semis reaches first Roland Garros Grand Slam final and faces Iga Swiatek, Stats.

• American teenager Coco Gauff, JUST 18, reached her first Grand Slam singles final with victory in the French Open last four, setting up a thrilling matchup with world number one Iga Swiatek.

In her first major semi-final, Gauff, 18, defeated unseeded Italian Martina Trevisan 6-3, 6-1 on the Paris clay.

Swiatek, 21, concluded a tranquil path to the Roland Garros final by defeating Daria Kasatkina, the 20th seed, 6-2, 6-1.

The Pole won her 34th match in a row to go to her second major final.

Swiatek, the 2020 Roland Garros winner, has only dropped one set on the Paris clay this fortnight.

1. Swiatek and Kasatkina were even at 2-all. But Swiatek claimed 10 of the last 11 games.

• Guff won the French Open junior title at 14. She became the youngest qualifier in Wimbledon history and then beat Venus Williams on the way to the fourth round there at 15.
