Rotterdam will host the 2026 Artistic World Championships and Lisbon the 2027 World Gymnaestrada..
- The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships will return to Rotterdam, Netherlands in 2026 and the World Gymnaestrada to Lisbon, Portugal in 2027. The FIG Council confirmed these major events during the meeting in Dubrovnik.
In 2010, Rotterdam hosted the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.
The event — the second World Championships in the cycle leading up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games – is scheduled for 17-25 October 2026 at Rotterdam Ahoy, the same venue as the 2010 World Championships, according to Monique Kempff, President of the Royal Dutch Gymnastics Federation.
The World Gymnaestrada will take place in the Portuguese capital from July 11 to 17, 2027, with the opening and closing ceremonies taking place in the Estadio Stadium, as well as the World Gym for Life Challenge, the second largest Gymnastics for All event, taking place from July 22 to 26, 2025.
The next World Gymnaestrada will take place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, in 2023.
