Spain crushes Greek hopes wins Gold at Women's Junior Water Polo

Spain beat Greece wins FINA World Women's Junior Water Polo Championship 2021.

Spain emphatically beat Greece 10-5 for the gold medal on the seventh day of the XIV FINA Women’s Junior Water Polo World Championships in Netanya, Israel.

Hungary defeated Italy 12-10 for the bronze medal, emulating its senior women who won bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games...

The Spaniards went from 1-1 to 5-1 in the first quarter and scored another in the second quarter.

Spanish captain Paula Camus's two goals helped Spain enter the final quarter 9-4 with a five-goal advantage.

Greece had no chance to pull it back and was only able to respond through Eleni Kanetidou in the final two minutes.

Camus and Ariadne Ruiz scored three goals each for Spain to reclaim the title after a 10-year wait.

Earlier on Saturday, Hungary won the bronze medal after a 12-10 victory over Italy.

Russia finished fifth after a 19-8 win against the Netherlands, while Israel came seventh after a 10-10 draw and a 4-3 victory on penalties against Serbia. Enditem..
