Players Championship purse Jumped to $20M, Richest event in PGA history

2022 The Players Championship purse bumped to $20 million, Richest event in PGA Tour in Golf history.



 The Players Championship purse has now doubled in a mere six years.

 The PGA Tour will raise The Players purse to $20 million beginning next year in 2022, with the winner earning $3.6 million share. 


 The Players Championship purse was $10 million in 2015, 

was bumped to $10.5 million for 2016 and 2017, and 

the Purse $11 million in 2018, 

 and to $12.5 million in 2019. 


 The Tour then raised it again to $15 million for 2020-21 year, 


with Justin Thomas won the 2021 TPC & earning $2.7 million winners share

The Players Championship 2022 purse will be $3.6 million next year’s winner will takes home was more than the total purse in 1997.
