Petra Kvitova has endured a difficult season on tour, battling multiple injuries and a slump in form. The Czech has now decided to take some extra time off to prepare for the 2022 season.
Kvitova recently announced that she would end her season after the ongoing BNP Paribas Open. The 31-year-old had earlier asked to be excused from the Billie Jean King Cup, scheduled to be played in Prague in early November.
Inarguably, two of the most notable WTA players, Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka, met each other for the ninth time in their career in the WTA 1000 Indian Wells 2021.
So far, the Czech player had a five to three advantage over the Belarusian. But this time, Azarenka closed the distance, winning the match 7-5, 6-4.
