James Harden, 1st player to record back-to-back 50+ PTS games with 10 3PTS in NBA history.
Harden scored 54 points, ups their team record of 10 3-pointers with 19-of-31 shooting, seven assists, and five rebounds. he set in Houston's last game in the Rockets' 130-107 victory over the Orlando Magic on Friday night.
— James Harden found his 3-point shooting touch — again.
Rockets, Harden scoring champ shot 19-for-31 from the field -- including 10-for-15 on 3-pointers and 6-for-6 at the free-throw line -- adding 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks in 36 minutes. Houston won going away, 130-107.
This achievement makes Harden the second player to do so in NBA history, joining Stephen Curry, who did so in February 2016.
That’s his fifth 50-point effort this season, his third Dec. 1 and his second in as many games.
It's the third time Harden has gone for 50 back-to-back in this calendar year:
Jan. 14 vs. Memphis (57 points) & Jan. 16 vs. Brooklyn (58; OT)
March 20 vs. Memphis (57 points) & March 22 vs. San Antonio (61; OT)
To put that in perspective, only four players in the history of the NBA have multiple games in their career with 10 or more made 3-pointers. Harden is one of them, joined by Stephen Curry (who did the same back-to-back feat in 2016), Klay Thompson and J.R. Smith.
Harden is now averaging 39.3 points and 7.5 assists per game on 64 percent true-shooting, which accounts for his enormous diet of 3-pointers
