LONDON (AP) — Manchester City swept aside Watford to complete the first clean sweep of English men’s football trophies.

The Manchester City has completed the English domestic Treble with Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup, The fourth piece of silverware in the same season was sealed by four different scorers in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus scored twice and David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne also scored as Watford was humiliated 6-0.

Victory for Pep Guardiola’s side came a week after the Premier League trophy was retained to join the League Cup and Community Shield already in City’s possession.

It wasn’t until 2011 that City ended a 35-year trophy drought by winning the FA Cup and now City achieving the biggest FA Cup final win since Bury beat Derby 6-0 in 1903.

Now City is the undisputed power of English football — a status it claimed from neighbor Manchester United.

 Watford arrived at Wembley hoping to overturn the odds and enjoy a happier day than they experienced in their previous FA Cup final appearance, when they lost 2-0 to Everton in 1984.

 "It was an incredible final for us and we have finished an incredible year.
"To all the people at the club, a big congratulations, especially the players because they are the reason why we have won these titles."


Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany:


"It wasn't as easy as the score makes it look. But what a season, what a tremendous club.
"It started with the manager, he sets the standard at the start of the season. It's the best team in the world for me.
"To set such a high standard for so long - not just for one year but two years running now."

Raheem Sterling said.



 “It just shows what the manager’s building here,” Sterling said. “At the start of the season he said, ‘Let’s try and get the mentality right and go for the Premier League again,’ and we’ve done that again, exceptionally well.  
“It’s a credit to all the boys, being mentally switched on throughout the season which has been long with the World Cup as well. Everyone’s been focused and on their A game the whole way through.”

1 -  Manchester City are the first English top-flight side to register 50 wins in all competitions in a single season.

2 -   Watford have lost their past 11 matches against City in all competitions, conceding 38 goals.

3 -   City are just the fourth team to win both major domestic cup competitions in the same season - after Arsenal in 1992-93, Liverpool in 2000-01 and Chelsea in 2006-07.

4 -  Pep Guardiola's team are only the third to score six goals in an FA Cup final, after Blackburn against Sheffield Wednesday in 1890 (6-1) and Bury against Derby in 1903 (6-0).

5 -  City have scored 26 goals in the 2018-19 FA Cup - the most by a team in a single season in the competition since Charlton hit 29 and Derby scored 37, both in 1945-46.

6 -   Guardiola is the eighth manager to win the English top flight, EFL Cup and FA Cup, after Bill Nicholson, Don Revie, Joe Mercer, Kenny Dalglish, George Graham, Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho.

7 -  David Silva has become just the second Manchester City player to score in both an FA Cup and League Cup final, after Yaya Toure.
