Seattle (16-3) earned its spot by crushing the San Francisco 49ers 41-6 in the Divisional Round and then holding off the Los Angeles Rams 31-27 in the NFC Championship Game.
The Patriots are one of the most successful franchises in Super Bowl history, making a record 12 appearances and winning six titles during their 2001–2019 dynasty led by Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Those championships came in Super Bowls XXXVI, XXXVIII, XXXIX, XLIX, LI, and LIII, with their most recent win coming in 2019 after a 13-3 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
The Seahawks have appeared in four Super Bowls, winning their only championship in Super Bowl XLVIII with a dominant 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos during the Legion of Boom era.
