The most prestigious international basketball competition will have its 19th edition in 2023 at the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Three nations—the Philippines, Japan, and Indonesia—will co-host the event for the first time.

32 teams from across the world will participate in the competition, which will take place from August 25 to September 10 over the course of 92 games.



Plenty of NBA stars including Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic alongside the Team USA selections and more, are expected to present bids for international success before focusing on the 2023-24 Regular Season.



The 32 participating national teams were recently drawn into eight groups of four teams each. The first round stretches from the start date to 30 August and attached following action will last up to 3 September.



The final phase, the knockout stage taking over will tip off on 5 September and conclude with the gold medal game on 10 September.

UPDATED - FIBA and GRUP MEDIAPRO, leading company in the European audiovisual industry, have announced a rights agreement for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, with all 92 games to be made available on Gol Mundial digital platform under FIBA’s Courtside 1891 brand.



Action will be available to watch in selected territories via FIBA's streaming service Courtside 1891 Basketball.

You can also watch all the games on ESPSN+ Channel.


In Spain, the national network RTVE are the rights holders with Sportsnet screening the games in Canada.


France Televisions and beIN share the rights in France with ESPN covering the tournament in Australia. No rights holder for the United States has been announced as yet.
