The 2023 FIM Speedway Grand Prix calendar has been confirmed as venues across eight different countries host FIM SWC action in the sport's 100th season with 10 thrilling rounds of action to decide who will be crowned champion by the season’s conclusion.


The SGP season opens with the FIM Speedway GP of Croatia – Donji Kraljevec once again on April 29 with the final race on September 5 taking place at Poland – Torun, where the 2023 Speedway GP world champion will lift the trophy at a packed Marian Rose Motoarena.

Discovery+ will provide live, ad-free coverage of every race as well as interactive services. Race action will also be live on Eurosport 2, with highlights and reaction on the Eurosport website.



FIM Speedway Grand Prix 2023: How it works, Format, scoring & Points system.




  • Every round will see the 16 riders race against each other over 20 heats. Every heat will consist of four riders taking four laps of the track.
  • The winning rider in each heat is awarded four points with two points for second, one for third and zero for last place.
  • The eight riders with the most points at the end of the heats move to two semi-finals, with the top two in each semi then facing off in the final.
  • The winning rider earns 20 championship points with 18 for second, 16 for third and 14 for fourth.

Zmarzlik wins 2022 SGP championship with victory in Sweden.

The 2023 FIM Speedway Grand Prix line-up has been finalised with 14 of this year’s stars returning and a reserve revolution as substitute stars from seven different nations are nominated.

Great Britain’s triple world champion Tai Woffinden and 2017 Speedway GP world champion Jason Doyle return for 2023 after being selected by the SGP Commission.
