Paula Reto wins CP Women's Open for first LPGA Tour title

Paula Reto held off Nelly Korda by One stroke to claim a maiden LPGA Tour title at the 2022 CP Women's Open.




  • Paula Reto won the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open on Sunday for her first LPGA Tour victory, closing with a 4-under 67 for a one-stroke victory over Nelly Korda and Hye-Jin Choi.



At Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club, Reto finished with a score of 19 under par. The South African, 32, started off with a course-record 62.



She is the fourth LPGA Tour champion from South Africa.

Korda, who also shot a 67, lost the opportunity to reclaim the top spot.

With a 69, Choi and fellow rookie An from South Korea shared the lead after the third round.



Lydia Ko, a three-time champion, finished fourth at 17 under with a 63.

To tie for sixth place at 15 under, An fired a 72.



The leading Canadian, Alena Sharp, shot a 67 to tie for 17th place at 10 under par. After shooting a 69 in front of a large audience, Canadian superstar Brooke Henderson tied for 49th place at 5 under.
