Untill 2023: Racing's most famous contest, the Randox Grand National at Aintree, will be reduced from 40 runners to 34 from next year as part of a focus on horse welfare.

The headline alteration will see the maximum field size reduced for the first time since 1984, with the Jockey Club stating its aim to reduce the risk of incidents during the race..

Who won the Last year at Aintree racecourse, Grand National 2024 Winner.?

The 7-1 joint favourite I Am Maximus stormed home to give trainer Willie Mullins his second victory in the Aintree Grand National.

Jockey Paul Townend claimed his first win in the race on the horse, who also won last year's Irish National.

The pair took the lead after the last fence and raced clear on the run-in to win by seven and a half lengths.

It was an Irish 1-2-3-4 with Delta Work second ahead of Minella Indo and Galvin.

Mullins won the prestigious race with Hedgehunter in 2005.
