Netball World Cup 2027: Sydney set to host event for third time

Sydney has won the right to host the next 2027 Netball World Cup.

It is the third time the Australian city will have staged the event, having previously held it in 1991 and 2015.

Australia has won the right to host the 2027 Netball World Cup, a coup that secures a range of major benefits for the nation’s number one participation sport.

The marquee event will see 16 national teams gather in Sydney to battle for the title of world champion and will coincide with Australian netball’scentenarycelebrations.

It also becomes the ninth World Cup to be awarded in New South Wales’ ambitious 10 World Cups in 10 Years initiative.

Netball Australia Chair Paolina Hunt announced the successful bid in Sydney this morning and said securing the 2027 World Cup was another critical step in the rapid development of the sport.
