The 2026 Betfred Derby (also known as the Epsom Derby) is the 247th running of Britain’s most prestigious Flat race and one of the world’s greatest sporting events. Run over one mile and four furlongs (2,400 metres) at Epsom Downs, it tests the stamina, speed, and courage of the very best three-year-old colts.

This year’s renewal carries a record £2 million prize fund (with £1 million to the winner), making it one of the richest races in the UK. A field of 14 runners will tackle the unique undulating track, with Aidan O’Brien’s Benvenuto Cellini heading the market as the clear favourite. Recent rain has softened the ground, adding an extra layer of intrigue to this Classic.
