USHL Champions List: Complete History of Clark Cup Winners (1947–2025)
The United States Hockey League (USHL) is the top Tier I junior ice hockey league in the United States. It develops players aged 16 to 20 and serves as the premier pathway for young American talent to reach NCAA college hockey and the NHL. Founded in 1947 as a semi-pro league, the USHL fully transitioned to an amateur junior league in 1979.
It currently features 16 teams across the Midwest in Eastern and Western Conferences. The league champion is awarded the Clark Cup each spring after the playoffs. Widely respected for its high level of play, the USHL has produced over 1,000 NHL draft picks and more than 25% of current NHL players, including stars like Patrick Kane, Auston Matthews, and Jack Eichel. It is considered the best junior league in America for player development.
