The full schedule for the men's and women's soccer tournaments at the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics (LA28) has been revealed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and LA28 organizers, as reported on March 16, 2026.Soccer is the first sport to begin competition, kicking off July 10, 2028 — four days before the Opening Ceremony on July 14 — to allow extra rest for teams amid the expanded women's field and adjusted men's format. The tournament spans multiple U.S. cities for group stages and early knockouts, with finals at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California.




Key Changes and Details

Men's tournament: Reduced to 12 teams (from 16 in previous Olympics) for better balance and rest.

Women's tournament: Expanded to 16 teams (up from 12) for the first time, marking greater gender equity.
