2026 Chinese GP Race Results: Kimi Antonelli Youngest F1 Winner Ever – Full Lap-by-Lap
Teenager Kimi Antonelli won his first ever Formula 1 race at the Chinese Grand Prix. He finished ahead of his Mercedes teammate George Russell, giving the Mercedes team a 1–2 finish.
The 19-year-old Italian also made history. He became the second youngest driver ever to win an F1 race. The only driver who won at a younger age is Max Verstappen, who got his first win at 18 years old during the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix.
Antonelli had started the race from pole position (first on the grid), making him the youngest driver ever to start first. At the beginning of the race he briefly lost the lead to Lewis Hamilton, who was driving for Ferrari, but Antonelli later took the lead back and controlled the race until the end.
After the race, Antonelli was very emotional and almost cried during the interview because the moment meant so much to him.
Russell finishing second place means he still leads the championship, staying four points ahead of Antonelli. His race was a bit harder because he lost positions after an early safety car.
Behind them, Hamilton and his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc had an exciting battle for most of the race. They overtook each other several times before Hamilton finally finished ahead and got his first podium for Ferrari since joining the team last season.
