The 2026 NRL Pre-Season Challenge (sponsored as the Witzer Pre-Season Challenge) begins on Saturday, February 7, 2026. The tournament features 16 matches played across three weeks, leading into the season opener in Las Vegas on February 28.
Key Tournament Features
Prize Money: The team finishing at the top of the pre-season ladder wins $100,000.
Bonus Point System: Teams earn points for a win (12) or draw (6), plus potential bonus points (up to 3 per game) for scoring 5+ tries, making 5+ linebreaks, or throwing 10+ offloads.
Player Rotation: Teams can use squads of up to 28 players with unlimited interchanges.
All-Stars Game: The NRL Harvey Norman All Stars (Māori vs. Indigenous) will be held at FMG Stadium Waikato, Hamilton on Sunday, February 15.
