World Cup 2026 Ticket Guide: Ticket Price, Platform, Presale

FIFA 2026 World Cup Ticket Resale Platform and Presale Details.

World Cup ticket ballot set to open - here's all you need to know

The main ticket ballot for next summer's World Cup in North America opens on Thursday. It's the first opportunity for fans to secure tickets since the draw was made and the full match schedule was announced last week.

Fifa's pricing model has been criticized, with Football Supporters Europe warning of "record high prices" and "huge financial risks" for fans wanting to follow their teams. In an earlier sales phase, ticket prices ranged from £45 to £5,915.

How does the ballot work?

From 16:00 GMT on Thursday, fans can apply for tickets on Fifa's website for the matches of their choice. Each household can request up to four tickets per match and a maximum of 40 across the entire tournament.

The application window runs until 13 January 2026. There is no advantage to applying early – all fixtures remain available throughout the entire period. After the window closes, Fifa will run a lottery to decide which applications are successful.

Fans will be notified by email in February and, if allocated tickets, will be charged automatically.

What about dynamic pricing?

Dynamic pricing – called "variable pricing" by Fifa – will be used in some sales phases, but not during the main ballot. The price you see when the window opens will remain the same until it closes.

Prices will still vary based on expected demand for each fixture. Fifa has not yet published official price lists, but fans can refer to prices tracked during the earlier sale phase as a guide.

How else can I get tickets?

  1. FA allocations
Each participating nation receives 8% of tickets for its matches to distribute to supporters. For England and Scotland, these will be available to members of their official supporters’ clubs from 15 December to 13 January. Allocation is based on a loyalty points-weighted ballot. These tickets cannot be resold.

  2. Fifa marketplace
Fifa’s official resale platform allows fans to resell tickets bought in earlier phases. Sellers set their price, and Fifa charges a 15% fee to both buyer and seller. Fans are warned against unofficial resale sites, where tickets may be cancelled.

  3. Hospitality
Official hospitality packages are available at significantly higher costs, including premium seating and dining. The top-tier “Platinum Access” requires direct inquiry and may include exclusive perks.

  4. First-come, first-served
Any remaining tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis closer to the tournament, with dynamic pricing likely applied manually by Fifa.

Do I need a visa?

Having a ticket does not guarantee entry to the host countries – the US, Canada, or Mexico. UK citizens traveling to the US typically need an ESTA or Visitor Visa. Canada requires a visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), while Mexico offers visa-free entry for UK nationals.

US embassies are prioritizing appointments for ticket holders but advise applying early. Entry for citizens from countries with travel restrictions to the US remains unclear.
