Chiefs vs. Broncos Results, Highlight, Christmas Day game
The AFC West closes out your Christmas, when the Kansas City Chiefs (6-9) and Denver Broncos (12-3) meet on Thursday night.
Santa Claus may have come and gone, but there's still a present underneath the tree for the Broncos: a potential AFC West crown. Denver hasn't locked up the division yet, but they can get halfway there if they secure a win on Thursday. They'll need the Los Angeles Chargers to then lose their Week 17 matchup vs. the Houston Texans in order to clinch.
The Chiefs are in a somewhat unusual position given their dominance over the last decade-plus. They enter their Christmas Day officially eliminated from playoff contention, meaning they'll be playing for pride down the stretch.
More than pride, they'll be playing for Patrick Mahomes, who was lost to an ACL injury in Week 15. They'll also not have backup passer Gardner Minshew, who suffered a knee injury of his own in Week 16.
That means the Chiefs and Andy Reid have an opportunity to do something they haven't done in a long, long time: play spoilers down the stretch. That continues with a divisional matchup on Christmas Day.

Kansas City Chiefs Announce Move to New $3 Billion Domed Stadium in Kansas
Denver's list of inactive players today includes linebacker Dre Greenlaw. Justin Strnad is up.
The Kansas City Chiefs announced a historic relocation plan, confirming they will move from Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri to a new, $3 billion domed stadium in Kansas City, Kansas. The team is scheduled to begin playing in the new stadium at the start of the 2031 NFL season.
The announcement was made on Monday by Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. The decision followed a meeting of the Kansas Legislative Coordinating Council to discuss the stadium plans.
In his statement, Hunt outlined the broader scope of the project: "In the years ahead, we look forward to designing and building a state-of-the-art domed stadium and mixed-use district in Wyandotte County, and a best-in-class training facility, team headquarters, and mixed-use district in Olathe, totaling a minimum of $4 billion of development in the State of Kansas."
This move marks a significant shift for the franchise, which has played at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri since 1972. The new domed stadium and surrounding developments represent a major long-term investment in Kansas.
