Dubai to Host 2025 Men's World Boxing Championships With Record $8M Prize Fund

The International Boxing Association (IBA) will stage the 2025 Men's Elite World Boxing Championships in Dubai from December 2-13, featuring a record $8 million prize fund.

Gold medalists will receive $300,000 - the largest prize in boxing championship history - with $150,000 for silver and $75,000 for bronze. The prize money will be distributed 50% to boxers, 25% to coaches, and 25% to national federations.

IBA President Umar Kremlev stated the event aims to "give every boxer, coach and federation the respect and reward they deserve." The championships will serve as the centerpiece of a two-week 'Festival of Boxing' in Dubai.

The announcement comes after World Boxing, now recognized as Olympic boxing's governing body, held its own world championships last month. The IBA said further event details will follow.
