Ole Miss Dominates 2025 Egg Bowl as Chambliss Shines in MS State Rivalry Win

Egg Bowl 2025: Trinidad Chambliss tosses 4 TDs in Ole Miss' win 38-19 over Mississippi State

No. 7 Ole Miss marched into Starkville and left with both bragging rights and a near-certain College Football Playoff berth, knocking off Mississippi State 38–19 in a commanding Egg Bowl performance.

Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss played like a man completely unbothered by the noise around Lane Kiffin’s future. He threw four touchdowns, finished with 359 passing yards, and kept the Rebels humming all night. De’Zhaun Stribling hauled in two of those scores as Ole Miss (11–1, 7–1 SEC) wrapped up the first 11-win regular season in program history and extended its Egg Bowl streak to three.

Mississippi State threw everything at them behind freshman Kamario Taylor, who delivered a gutsy debut: 173 rushing yards, 178 through the air, and all of the Bulldogs’ touchdowns. Even so, MSU (5–7, 1–7) slipped short of bowl eligibility for the third straight year.

The Bulldogs opened the second half with a field goal to cut the deficit to 21–13, but Ole Miss responded quickly with a Lucas Carneiro kick and a crushing jolt—a 23-yard Chambliss-to-Stribling strike—to stretch the lead to 31–13. Taylor answered with a dazzling 35-yard scramble, but the Rebels slammed the door when Chambliss uncorked an 88-yard bomb to Deuce Alexander.

Kewan Lacy powered the ground attack with 143 yards and the opening touchdown, while a muffed kickoff by Mississippi State early in the first quarter led to a wild momentum swing that both teams exchanged before Ole Miss took control.

The Rebels weren’t just better—they were calmer, sharper and more explosive. With the playoff looming, the Egg Bowl became one more piece of evidence that Ole Miss belongs in the national conversation.
