Broncos Edge Roosters to Claim Fourth NRLW Premiership 2025
The Brisbane Broncos clinched their fourth NRLW title with a gritty 22-18 victory over the Sydney Roosters in a fiery grand final at Accor Stadium.
Centre Mele Hufanga sealed the win with a contentious late try — awarded by the video referee — and earned the Karyn Murphy Medal as player of the match. The Broncos had led by 12 before the Roosters surged ahead in the second half, only for Hufanga’s decisive effort to restore Brisbane’s lead with four minutes remaining.
Fullback Tamika Upton, who scored the opening try and celebrated her fifth premiership, praised her teammates’ resilience after the Roosters’ 18-game winning streak came to an end.
Despite a spirited comeback led by Brydie Parker and Mia Wood, the Roosters fell short, as Brisbane completed a memorable day for the club — with both their men’s and women’s teams crowned NRL champions.
