McIlroy missed, Scheffler, Spieth headlines the Star-studded Travelers Championship 2026 field at TPC River Highlands.
The field for the 2026 Travelers Championship was announced late Friday amidst the second round of the U.S. Open. The Travelers has long been the next tournament on the docket after the national championship but at least this time, it'll be a short commute.
TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, which has hosted the Travelers since 1984, is about 3 hours north of Shinnecock Hills.
The Travelers is the eighth and final signature event on the PGA Tour's 2026 schedule. This limited-field event will have 72 players when it starts next Thursday, and the field will be finalized Sunday after the conclusion of the U.S. Open.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is the field, as is defending champion Keegan Bradley but Rory McIlroy is skipping this one. It will be the third signature event he has missed in 2026. He's the only one in the OWGR's top 50 who won't play.
There are five past winners of the Travelers Championship expected to compete with Bradley (2025), Scheffler (2024), Xander Schauffele (2022), Harris English (2021) and Jordan Spieth (2017) also in the field.
Two-time winner Keegan Bradley looks to defend his Travelers Championship crown in this no-cut, limited-field tournament featuring 72 of the world’s best players. The field includes other past champions Scottie Scheffler and Jordan Spieth, as well as top-ranked players like Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young.
The eighth and final signature event of the PGA Tour season doesn’t have a 36-hole cut, offering all in the 72-player field a full 72 holes of competition.
