The Bears were shut out of a berth in both the men’s and women’s basketball brackets after the weekend’s results on the floor. Brown is the only school among eight in the league that did not land a spot in either of the four-team fields.
Brown’s exclusion was confirmed Sunday morning with a NET rankings update on the women’s side. The Bears finished tied for fourth with Penn in the conference at 6-8, but the Quakers (162) landed 22 spots in front of Brown (184) when all the NCAA data was tabulated.
Princeton snagged a spot in each of the two fields. Yale, Cornell and Dartmouth joined the Tigers among the men. Columbia, Harvard and Penn will battle Princeton for the women’s crown.
