The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, announced the highly-anticipated schedule for the men’s Champions Trophy 2025, slated to be hosted by Pakistan.
The eight-team tournament, comprised of 15 matches, will run from February 19 to March 9, across three venues – Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi – in Pakistan and Dubai.
The eight teams are divided into two groups. Group A features Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh, while Group B is comprised of Afghanistan, South Africa, England and Australia.
Hosts Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the curtain raiser on February 19 in Karachi, while India take on Bangladesh in Dubai the following day.
WHILE tournament blockbuster clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
Defending champions Pakistan and India were drawn alongside New Zealand and Bangladesh in Group A while England will face Australia, South Africa and Afghanistan in Group B.
The tournament opener will see Pakistan face New Zealand in Karachi on 19 February
Pakistan will host a total of 10 matches in their country, while four matches, including all three of India's group-stage matches and the first semi-final, will be played in Dubai.
The final of the tournament is scheduled to be played in Lahore but if India qualify then it will also be held in Dubai.
Furthermore, a reserve day has also been allocated for the final clash as a precautionary measure to combat any weather-related hindrence.
The 50-over Champions Trophy will be the first time Pakistan has hosted a global event since 1996.
Pakistan will also host the women's T20 World Cup in 2028, when neutral venue arrangements will apply.
When is the opening match and when is the Champions Trophy final?
Pakistan will host New Zealand in the tournament opener at Karachi’s National Stadium on Thursday, February 19.
The final is scheduled for March 9, with the venue subject to India’s qualification for the match.
When and where is the India vs Pakistan group match?
While the marquee fixture was originally scheduled for Lahore on March 2, the match was moved to Sunday, February 23, in Dubai following an impasse and eventual agreement between both nations.

The first edition of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy was held in Bangladesh in 1998, with South Africa crowned the inaugural champions. India and Sri Lanka shared the honours in 2002.
Australia and India are the two most successful sides in the ICC Champions Trophy since its inception in 1998 when it was known as the ICC KnockOut Trophy. Both the sides have won the event twice, with Australia being the only side to win back-to-back titles - in 2006 in Mumbai, India, and in 2009 in Centurion, South Africa. India shared the title with hosts Sri Lanka in Colombo in 2002 before winning again in Birmingham, England, in 2014.
