College Football Playoff 2025 Quarterfinals schedule, Bowl Matchups, Dates, Times, locations and first round results.




The College Football Playoff quarterfinal games are finalized for the 2025–26 season after the final three first-round games were decided on Saturday.


The top four seeds — No. 1 Indiana, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Georgia, and No. 4 Texas Tech — earned first-round byes and will host quarterfinal games on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Quarterfinal play begins Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the Cotton Bowl, where No. 2 Ohio State hosts No. 10 Miami at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Three quarterfinals follow on Thursday, Jan. 1. Action starts at noon ET at the Orange Bowl, with No. 4 Texas Tech hosting No. 5 Oregon. At 4:00 p.m. ET, the Rose Bowl features No. 1 Indiana vs. No. 9 Alabama. The nightcap is the Sugar Bowl, where No. 3 Georgia hosts No. 6 Ole Miss at 8:00 p.m. ET. All games will air on ESPN.

The winners of Ohio State–Miami and Georgia–Ole Miss will meet in the Fiesta Bowl semifinal on Jan. 8, while the winners of Texas Tech–Oregon and Indiana–Alabama will advance to the Peach Bowl semifinal on Jan. 9. Both semifinals are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

The College Football Playoff National Championship will be played Jan. 19, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

The CFP format is a single-game elimination. The CFP selection committee straight-seeded the 2025-26 CFP bracket this season, meaning the top four teams from the final CFP top 25 rankings reveal were given the top four seeds. The 12-team CFP bracket has five of the highest-ranked conference champions and seven at-large teams.
