NWSL Champions US Women's league Past Winners List, History Since 2013

On November 22, 2025, NJ/NY Gotham FC made league history by defeating the Washington Spirit 1–0 at PayPal Park in San Jose to claim their second NWSL Championship.

Entering the playoffs as the No. 8 seed, Gotham became the lowest-seeded team ever to win the title. The match remained a deadlock until the 80th minute, when USWNT star Rose Lavelle scored the decisive goal, earning her the Championship MVP honors.

This victory capped off a dominant year for the club, who also secured the inaugural CONCACAF W Champions Cup earlier in the season. For the Washington Spirit, it marked a heartbreaking second consecutive year finishing as the league runner-up.
