The Two Biggest Sporting events on Aussies Land is AFL Grand Final and NRL grand finals have been played and won, which means it’s now time for the Motorsports event Bathurst 1000 in the Supercars Schedule.
After the AFL & NRL, the biggest race of the Supercars calendar is upon us and this year the Great Race returns to its traditional date in October after doubling as the season finale last year.
This year’s 2025 Bathurst race will mark the End of Holden v Ford Bathurst battle before the Supercars starts its new Gen3 era this year.

When is the Bathurst 1000?
The 2025 edition of the Bathurst 1000 will place between Thursday, October 9 and Sunday, October 12.
It remains in its traditional early-October slot for the fourth consecutive year following COVID-related disruptions.
The race will begin at 11:45 am AEDT on Sunday.

As the name suggests, the main race is officially 1,000 kilometres long.
That said, with 161 laps of the famous Mount Panorama circuit (6.213km per lap) it actually measures slightly longer at 1,000.293 kilometres.
The Mount Panorama Circuit is a historic racing track located in Bathurst, New South Wales.
It is just over 6.2km in length and features two straights — 1.9km and 1.1km in length, respectively.
Drivers will complete 161 laps around the famous track during Sunday's race to meet the 1,000 km mark.
