The biggest and most important bike race in the world, the 2025 Tour de France, runs from July 5 to 27, covering 21 stages and a total of 3,350 kilometers with 51,550 meters of climbing.
The 21 stages break down like this: 7 flat stages, 6 hilly stages, 6 mountain stages with 5 summit finishes, and 2 time trials.

The Grand Boucle kicks off in Lille, up in northern France. After a first week packed with sprint stages, classic routes, and a time trial, the peloton hits the Massif Central just before the rest day.
In the second week, the riders will face the Pyrenees and iconic climbs like the Tourmalet. The final week features summit finishes on Mont Ventoux and in the Alps.
The 112th edition of the Tour de France wraps up with the final stage to Paris, ending with the traditional Tour d’Honneur on the Champs-Élysées.

When is the Tour de France?
The 112th edition of the Tour de France kicks off on Saturday, July 5 in Lille.
Spanning 21 stages over 23 days, the race concludes in Paris on Sunday, July 27.

How to watch the 2025 Tour de France
USA: All 21 stages will air on Peacock, NBC's streaming service. NBC will have live coverage of stages 1 and 20, with highlights of stages 2, 15, 20 and 21.

Who won the Tour of France in 2024?
Tour de France 2024: Tadej Pogacar wins third Tour title - All stage results and final general classification. The Tour de France 2024, the 111th edition of world's most prestigious cycling race, took place from 29 June until 21 July.
UAE Team Emirates' Tadej Pogacar won his third title this year to secure a Tour de France-Giro d'Italia double and is set to battle two-time winner Jonas Vingegaard for the yellow jersey again in 2025.
Time, points and jerseys - how does the Tour de France work?
While the spotlight is on the battle for the overall Tour de France victory, there is much more going on.
In addition to stage wins, riders and their teams will be contesting four jerseys across the 21 stages:
Yellow jersey: General classification - the overall race leader who has completed the race in the shortest time (last year's winner - Tadej Pogacar)
Green jersey: Points leader - cumulative points won in stages (points on offer vary depending on stage type) and intermediate sprints (last year's winner - Biniam Girmay)
Polka dot jersey: King of the mountains - cumulative points won on categorised climbs (last year's winner - Richard Carapaz)
White jersey: Best-placed young rider under the age of 26 (last year's winner - Remco Evenepoel)
