Mark Selby is hoping to defend his title at the 2026 Welsh Open, which gets underway on Monday, February 22 at Venue Cymru in Llandudno.

Mark Selby won the 2025 Welsh Open snooker tournament, defeating Stephen Maguire 9–6 in the final at Venue Cymru in Llandudno. This victory marked Selby's second Welsh Open title—his first since 2008—and his 24th ranking title overall, earning him the £100,000 top prize. 


The 2025/26 Home Nations and European snooker series both draw to a close in North Wales next week, as the world's best players arrive at Venue Cymru in Llandudno for the 35rd edition of the Welsh Open.


When is the Welsh Open 2026?


The Welsh Open will begin on Monday, February 23 and conclude on Sunday, March 1.

The tournament will be held at Venue Cymru in Llandudno, marking just the second time the competition hasn't been held in Cardiff or Newport.
