NFL Salary Cap skyrockets Sets at $255.4M for 2024 Season

NFL salary cap skyrockets to $255.4 million for 2024 season for every team, up record $30.6 million from 2023.

The NFL salary cap has taken a historic leap for the 2024 season.

The league announced on Friday that the salary cap will be $255.4 million per club in 2024.

The figure marks an unprecedented $30-plus million rise over last season's cap, which totaled $224.8 million.

Per the NFL, on top of the record salary cap, there will be an additional $74 million per club payment for player benefits, which includes performance-based pay and benefits for retired players. Total 2024 player costs will be $329.4 million per team -- more than $10.5 billion league-wide.

“The unprecedented $30 million increase per club in this year’s salary cap is the result of the full repayment of all amounts advanced by the clubs and deferred by the players during the Covid pandemic as well as an extraordinary increase in media revenue for the 2024 season.”

The NFL’s salary cap was at $224.8 million in 2023, $208.2 million in 2022 and $182.5 in 2021, $198.2M in 2020.
