2025 NFL playoff predictions for AFC, NFC championships games

NFL playoff predictions to win AFC, NFC brackets, Super Bowl ahead of championship games.

Only four teams remain as we are now just three weeks away from Super Bowl LVIII. This weekend will be the conference championship games. Both the AFC and NFC championships will feature the No. 1 and No. 3 seeds.

Which NFL teams have the best chances of winning their conference championship games on the NFL playoff schedule?

ESPN Analytics has revealed its Matchup Predictor numbers for the two NFL playoff games in the league this week, and they offer some interesting win probabilities.

Take a look at the site's picks for this week's NFL games, beginning with the NFC championship game between the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and ending with the AFC championship game between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs that same day.

Some of the site's predictions differ from NFL playoff odds and other NFL playoff picks for the championship games.

AFC championship game predictions, picks

ESPN: Bills have a 54.6% chance to beat Chiefs on Sunday

The site gives the Chiefs a 45.4% shot at winning the NFL playoff game.

Dimers: Chiefs 24, Bills 23

It writes: "After extensive simulations, our model gives the Bills a win probability of 46%, while the Chiefs have a win probability of 54%."

Sporting News: Chiefs 27, Bills 24

Vinnie Iyer writes: "The Chiefs will have home-field and be the more well-rounded team in all three phases. They also should benefit from getting homer calls and "non-calls" on penalties. Officiating favors the hosts, and Kansas City gets an extra lean there. Allen has knocked on the door of beating Mahomes on the playoff stage, and this may be the time he gets over the hump, but it feels like some of that old Mahomes magic is back right along with Kelce, as the two show no snooze button on that playoff alarm clock."

USA TODAY Sports: Chiefs 26, Bills 22

Tyler Dragon writes: "The Chiefs, who are undefeated at home this year, will get revenge in Kansas City. Mahomes, Kelce and Chris Jones, a trio bound for the Hall of Fame, will make game-changing plays and lift Kansas City to another Super Bowl.  Mahomes has led the Chiefs to seven straight AFC championship games. The pressure of the moment won’t be too intense for a Mahomes-led Chiefs team. The star QB is looking for his fifth Super Bowl appearances and the Chiefs are going for an historic third consecutive Super Bowl championship."

The Arizona Republic: Chiefs 31, Bills 28

Jeremy Cluff writes: "Can the Bills get past the Chiefs in the playoffs this time? It's not going to be easy. Kansas City is a perfect 9-0 at Arrowhead Stadium this season. The Bills are 5-4 away from Highmark Stadium this year. Josh Allen and company handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season in Week 11, 30-21, but that game was in Buffalo

Bookies.com: Bet the Bills with the points vs Chiefs

Bill Speros writes: "The Bills outlasted the Ravens 27-25 on Sunday as Mark Andrews dropped a game-tying 2-point conversion. They handed the Chiefs their only loss of the season when it mattered. Allen iced the 30-21 victory in Week 13 with a spectacular 26-yard TD run bouncing off a pair of KC defenders.

NFC championship game predictions, Picks

The Arizona Republic: Eagles 27, Commanders 24

Jeremy Cluff writes: :"We predicted that the Washington Commanders would win their wild-card game over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but we did not pick them to beat the No. 1 Detroit Lions in the divisional round. Jayden Daniels has shown poise that makes him look like a veteran, not a rookie, and the Commanders just continue to impress. This team has won seven straight games, including a 36-33 win over the Eagles in Week 16 at home.

Bookies.com: Bet the Commanders with the points vs Eagles

Bill Speros writes: "Tom Brady is back in the NFC Championship Game. But this time, he’ll in the booth for FOX. The Commanders and Eagles split their 2 games this past season, with the home team winning each time. Between the 2 games, the teams scored 113 points, hence the lofty total here. The weather in Philly is expected to be chilly and partly cloudy. No snow like we saw in the Eagles’ win on Sunday over the Rams. Philly held on for a push in the -6 line against LA. The Commanders mauled the Lions in their Divisional Round game 45-31 and did so inside Ford Field.

ESPN: Eagles have a 63.7% chance to beat Commanders on Sunday

The site gives the Commanders a 36.3% shot at winning the NFL playoff game.

It writes: "After extensive simulations, our model gives the Commanders a win probability of 34%, while the Eagles have a win probability of 66%."

Sporting News: Commanders 31, Eagles 27

Vinnie Iyer writes: "The Eagles were the better team in the division during the regular season, but the difference was not as big as many might think. The Commanders have big momentum on their side after taking it to the Buccaneers and Lions, while the Eagles survived the Packers and Rams, who made a lot more mistakes than they did.

USA TODAY Sports: Eagles 24, Commanders 21

Jacob Camenker writes: "The Eagles may also be one of the few NFL teams capable of forcing Daniels into turnovers, as three of his nine interceptions came in his two games against Philadelphia. If the Eagles can gain an advantage in the turnover battle, as they did against the Rams and Packers, that would go a long way toward limiting Washington's spectacular offense.
