The 2025 Chicago Marathon is the 47th edition of the annual marathon race in Chicago, USA, scheduled to be held on Sunday, 12 October 2025. 

A Platinum Label marathon, it is the fifth of six World Marathon Majors events scheduled for 2024 season.

 More than 50,000 runners from around 150 countries are toke part in the event.



Winning the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon doesn’t just earn competitors bragging rights, but it also can be a spectacular payday, especially for those winners that set new course records.

According to the Marathon, the top-five athletes in the open divisions and the top six finishers in the wheelchair division take home prizes, as so the top-five Americans and the top finisher in the masters division.

Her winning time is 1:38:14, with Switzerland's Manuela Schär and Scaroni's teammate Tatyana McFadden about 50 seconds behind.

With a total of $560,000 purse in prize money for the open division ($280,000 for men and $280,000 for women), the breakdown is as follows:

1st Place: $100,000


The wheelchair division included a total of ten prize winners for men and women each, with a total of $150,500 in prize money ($75,250 for men and $75,250 for women). The prize money breakdown is as follows:
