Minnesota Vikings TV Schedule 2026: Dates, Game Times, Channels, How to Watch, Live Stream, Locations Venues

The Minnesota Vikings made their move in 2025: J.J. McCarthy was handed the keys, Sam Darnold walked in free agency, and the franchise fully committed to its young quarterback.

On paper, it looked like the start of a new era. In reality, it became a messy lesson in timing.

Darnold revived his career in Seattle, playing some of the best football of his life. He earned a Pro Bowl nod after throwing for 4,048 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions, while leading the Seahawks to a Super Bowl 60 win over the New England Patriots.

Back in Minnesota, things went the other way.

McCarthy had a rough introduction to starting NFL football. He completed just 57.6% of his passes for 1,632 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. His 72.6 passer rating ranked last among qualified quarterbacks, and advanced metrics weren’t much kinder.

That uneven season forced the Vikings to rethink things. They brought in veteran Kyler Murray to compete for the starting job, setting up one of the more closely watched quarterback battles of the offseason. Between McCarthy’s upside and Murray’s experience, Minnesota is hoping at least one of them can steady an offense built around elite weapons like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Jauan Jennings, and T.J. Hockenson.

The talent is there. The problem is finding consistency under center.

After a 9–8 finish, Minnesota feels like a team stuck between rebuilding and pushing for contention—and 2026 will likely decide which direction wins out.
