2026 US Women's Open Prize Money Payout, Winners Share Breakdown

U.S. Women's Open 2026 record-breaking prize money payout, purse winners share for each golfer at Erin Hills

— Hailee Cooper had made just shy of $50,000 on the Epson Tour coming into her first U.S. Women's Open as a professional. The former Texas A&M player wasn't even sure if she wanted to turn professional and then gave herself a two-year window to make it onto the LPGA.

Needless to say, taking a share of seventh at Erin Hills at the 2025 U.S. Women's Open is a life-changing experience for the 25-year-old, so much so that it brought her to tears. Cooper earned $xxx, xxx after closing with a 2-under 70, finishing four back of winner Maja Stark.

"I walked out and they go, do you want to see the money?" said Cooper, "I was like, sure and I walked up and I immediately started crying when I saw the numbers. I'm like, oh, gosh, there are six of them. So it's awesome. It's life-changing for sure."

The $12 million purse is the largest in women's golf. Stark earned $2.4 million for her gutsy performance.

" I didn't even know that," she said when asked what she might do with the money. "Maybe move out of my studio apartment can be one thing. I don't know. I'm very happy with what I have in my life right now. I think just having the security for the future, I think I'll just be very happy about that."

Players who missed the cut this week earned $10,000.
